How to defrost steak overnight. Though you can defrost steaks in different ways like placing in the fridge overnight, or running under cold water, but if you are short of time then a microwave can be the right choice for you. Leave the steak in the water for 30 minutes. Most people are made ill, not by eating food defrosted quickly, but by not cooking properly (killing the bacteria) or not storing food correctly.
